This historic courthouse was constructed in Edenton,
North Carolina, in 1776 and it was designated as a
Registered National Historic Landmark in 1970. This
structure is not only the oldest public building in
North Carolina, it is also the least altered of all
the remaining British colonial courthouses in America.
